Great Raft Brewing is a Shreveport, Louisiana based craft brewery dedicated to making creative, authentic beer and helping to build a great beer culture within communities it serves.


Great Raft Brewing creates craft beer that complements the lifestyles and cultures of Louisiana. Our beer is complex, inspired, bold and plentiful, providing our customers a beer experience unlike any other. Southern people enjoy spicy, flavorful food and Great Raft beer not only stands up to the bold flavors in our cooking, but complements it as well. Great Raft beers are produced with the finest hops and grains, providing our customers with consistently great beer in every batch.

Great Raft Brewing was founded on the principle of brewing what we call “Real Beer.” Real Beer is brewed with creativity, passion, and authenticity. Our beer is brewed with creativity that pushes the boundaries of style, a passion for greatness, and authentic, quality ingredients. 

  • Great Raft is a production craft brewery that partners with distributors across Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas to deliver our beer to restaurants and stores. We also have a tasting room where you can sign up for a tour, buy a sample, pint or growler fill. 

  • Craft breweries are defined by the Brewers Association as being three things:

    Small: Annual production of 6 million barrels of beer or less

    Independent: Less than 25% of the craft brewery is owned or controlled (or equivalent economic interest) by an alcoholic beverage industry member who is not themselves a craft brewer.

    Traditional: A brewer who has either an all malt flagship (the beer which represents the greatest volume among that brewers brands) or has at least 50% of its volume in either all malt beers or in beers which use adjuncts to enhance rather than lighten flavor. 

  • Great Raft produces a variety of beers ranging from Belgian ales to German lagers. Our beer complements the climate and the culture of the south, and we use local and seasonal ingredients when possible to create unique, high-quality beer. Currently, Great Raft produces four flagship beers year-around: Southern Drawl (a dry-hopped Pilsner), Reasonably Corrupt (a Black Lager), Commotion (a hazy American Pale Ale) and 318 (a Golden Ale). Seasonal and one-off batches are available throughout the year as well.

  • Great Raft Brewing beer is on available throughout all of Louisiana and Arkansas, as well as in East Texas and the DFW area. Please visit our beer map for a list of specific locations near you.

  • Our canning operation started in February 2014. Our cans are made of a minimum of 50% post-consumer recycled aluminum and are infinitely recyclable. Americans are also at least twice as likely to recycle aluminum as they are glass, so our packaging will continue to help the environment, even after the beer is consumed. The beer in our cans has never seen UV light and has less CO2 pickup up during packaging. This means fresher beer for our consumers. 

  • A growler is a reusable half-gallon (64 oz) glass jug made for takeout draft beer. You can buy a growler and a growler fill of your favorite Great Raft beer during our tasting room hours. The containers are reusable and hold a little less than a six-pack of fresh beer. Once opened, you’ve got about 2 days to drink the beer, but it’s best to finish in one sitting. Headed to a get-together and want to share a few fresh Great Raft beers with your friends? These are great to take to a picnic, dinner or party. When the growler is empty, be sure to wash and dry the jug (and the cap) to keep it clean and ready for your next fill. PLEASE DO NOT DRINK FROM GROWLERS IN THE TASTING ROOM.
