Can you believe it? We've never brewed an IPA. It's the most popular craft beer style in the country the past few years, and we've never made one. Sure, we've released a session IPA, a 100% Brettanomyces IPA, a Double IPA, and India Pale Lager, etc...but never a single IPA.
You can mark Friday, June 30th down as the day that all changed.
Rhinestone Life IPA is brewed with wheat and oats, and dry hopped exclusively with Simcoe lupulin powder. It's not West Coast, East Coast or New England IPA, but a little bit of everything...and that's OK. This "no-coast" IPA comes in at 6% ABV, 60 IBU. It's available on draft only. If you feel the need to package it up and take it with you, crowlers are $12.
Lupulin powder is a new way of processing hops to produce concentrated lupulin of whole-leaf hops containing resins and aromatic oils resulting in twice the resin content. We use less and get a more intense nose than traditional pellets at the same dry hopping rate. That said, this version of Rhinestone Life is not an intensely dry hopped beer. It’s dry-hopped less than Commotion even, but we wanted to test it with a fairly conservative amount for our first use.
