3rd Annual Homebrew Competition

Great Raft Brewing is pleased to announce its third annual homebrew challenge.  A tasting party will be hosted on Sunday, January 15th, where winners will be announced and homebrew entries will be shared. Homebrew and music will be provided. See below for details. Happy Brewing!

Registration Deadline: Tuesday, November 15th

Vessel Drop Off: Wednesday, November 16th – Friday, November 18th during tasting room hours 4pm-8pm

Wort Pickup Date: Saturday, November 19th at Great Raft between 2-5 PM.

Registration
Quantity of wort will be limited, so please email Ross (ross@greatraftbrewing.com) to register, and guarantee your 5 gallons of wort.  Sign up by Tuesday, November 15th. First come, first served.

Wort Pickup
Wort pickup will be between 2-5PM on Saturday, November 19th. Check in at the front desk of the brewery, and someone will take you to get the wort. Commotion wort will be used this year. This is our base hoppy pale ale wort, with a starting gravity of 14, and targeted bitterness of 48 IBU.

Beer Submission
Finished beer should be submitted for judging between January 4th – 7th during our tasting room hours.  Six 12oz bottles of beer must be submitted, along with a submission form and your brewing number labeled on each bottle cap.

What You Need to Know
Participants will be required to drop off a sanitized and sealed 5-gallon fermentation vessel with a lid prior to wort pick up. You may drop off your carboy on November 16-18th, between 4-8 PM. Common vessels include buckets and carboys (please use extra caution when handling glass carboys).

Brewers may add whatever ingredients they wish to their beers, we just ask that you keep detailed notes of your brewing process.

On Sunday, January 15th join us from 1-5 PM to sample all of the homebrew submissions and vote for your favorite. Homebrew and music will be enjoyed beginning at 1 PM, and winners will be announced at 4 PM.  Food will be available on site. Location – TBD.
